Good water care is mostly about consistency. Test regularly, keep the water balanced, maintain sanitizer, and make small adjustments before problems build.
This guide explains the logic of water care, not exact dosing. Always follow your test-strip chart, product labels, current FROG instructions, and Sundance® owner guidance when their directions are more specific.
Part 1 · Water-care fundamentals
Balanced water and proper sanitizer levels are separate, but both matter. Correcting one does not automatically correct the other.
Water balance includes pH, total alkalinity, calcium or total hardness, and the overall water condition. Balanced water supports comfort, equipment protection, and effective sanitizing.
Sanitizing helps control bacteria and keep the water safe. Omaha Hot Tubs’ primary recommended sanitizer system is FROG @ease for Sundance® Spas.
A consistent starting point
Omaha Hot Tubs uses 6-part test strips and FROG-specific test strips. Compare each result with the chart for that strip, then use the appropriate product only as directed.
Current manufacturer targets
These ranges follow the current official Sundance-specific FROG operating instructions. They should not be replaced with broader generic spa ranges.

Work through one step at a time. Use the product label for dosing and circulation or retest timing rather than applying a universal amount or wait time.
Part 2 · What Omaha Hot Tubs recommends
This is the system Omaha Hot Tubs uses and supports. It is a practical starting point, not a product catalog or dosing chart.
Our primary recommended sanitizer system. Use the Sundance-specific system and current FROG instructions rather than universal cartridge settings or replacement assumptions.
Omaha Hot Tubs recommends SpaPure products for raising total alkalinity, raising or lowering pH, and increasing calcium hardness when the test result shows it is needed.
Shock according to your water-care system and after heavy use when needed. Follow the SpaPure product label and current FROG system guidance for exact use.
Source water matters
If your home uses well water, let Omaha Hot Tubs know before filling or refilling your spa. Well water may need additional treatment depending on its mineral content.
There is no universal pre-filter formula or Metal Gon dose on this page. We will help you determine the appropriate process for your fill.
Refresh the water
Omaha Hot Tubs recommends draining and refilling about every four months. Heavy use or changing water conditions may mean the water needs to be replaced sooner.
