Heading out of town for a few days or a couple of weeks? A few simple checks before you leave can help keep your spa ready for you when you return.
This guide is for a normal short trip—not winterization, a seasonal shutdown, an extended vacancy, or a freeze emergency. Call or text Omaha Hot Tubs before a longer absence or uncertain weather situation.
Before you leave
Keep the spa in its normal operating condition. The goal is stable water, continuous circulation, and a properly closed cover—not a temporary shutdown.
Test the water and make needed corrections before leaving. Adjust total alkalinity first, pH next, and confirm the sanitizer level. Use current product-label directions rather than a universal dose.

No universal dose, wait time, or fixed weekly schedule is published here.Make sure the spa is at its normal operating water level and the water is above every jet. Use the guidance for your specific spa rather than assuming one model-independent fill mark.
For a normal short trip, leave the spa powered on, covered, and at its normal operating settings unless Omaha Hot Tubs specifically advises otherwise.
Do not shut off power or make a blanket temperature change for a normal vacation.Confirm the cover is seated properly. Secure the cover straps if you use them, and make sure the cover lifter does not interfere with a complete closure.
A different situation
Consider having someone check the spa periodically—especially the water level and whether it is still operating normally. That is optional for a normal short trip, but it can be useful during a prolonged absence, severe cold, unusual weather, or uncertain operating conditions.
When you get home
Take a few minutes to confirm the spa stayed in a healthy operating condition, then return to your normal care rhythm.
